God became a human being to give us new hearts, to transform our world by transforming our lives from the inside out.

And this love comes to meet me today, 2,000 years on from its Incarnation. Just like he got his hands dirty
that first Christmas, so he comes to me today, unafraid of the messiness of my heart and undeterred by the chaos of my life.

I’ve been reminded of the fact that God’s gracious generosity – his unending love – wins out even when I can’t rise to meet the challenge. (That’s actually what Christmas is all about, no?)

For paradise we long. For perfection we were made...

We grow in love of God by praying.

This Sunday, the Church enters the Season of Advent. If we use these few short weeks wisely, we will find the time and space we need to prepare for Christ’s coming at Christmas.

It's right that the church year culminates in this feast, because Jesus' kingship undergirds every aspect of Christian life and worship.

Thanks are in order for all of you: Your faithfulness and generosity to OLMC, your prayers and loving support of our mission and ministries, and your dedication to and enthusiasm for our parish school are bearing much fruit!

If we can entrust ourselves to Jesus and rise to meet the demands of love today, then we can figure the rest of it out as we go - we can figure out how to overcome tomorrow’s obstacles tomorrow.
