Dear Saints,
The word “epiphany” stems from a root meaning “to reveal” or “shine forth,” and today we celebrate the incredible truth that God has revealed his saving love to all nations. The visit of the Magi to the child Jesus is a powerful sign that God’s love knows no boundaries. It is not confined to a particular lineage or earned through merit - it is freely given to people of every race, condition, and time.
To know even a fraction of God’s love is a profound gift, and with it comes a sacred responsibility. First, we must share it humbly, never as a weapon to shame or exclude but as an invitation rooted in mercy. The Book of Jude reminds us to “have mercy on those who doubt,” a call that echoes our own reliance on God’s mercy. From there, we share the love of Christ not so much with words as with our actions: by being the kind of friend we’d want to have.
When we prioritize authentic relationship with God and neighbor, we open our lives to “magi moments,” those grace-filled times when we catch a glimpse of God’s plan and are drawn deeper into his mystery. More than that, we become “magi moments” for others, allowing God’s love to shine through us and draw others to the light of Christ.
Christ’s Peace,
Father Daniel
