PASTOR'S LETTER: OCTOBER 5-6, 2019

“I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God you have through the imposition of my hands. For God did not give you a spirit of cowardice, but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake, but bear your share of the hardship for the gospel, with the strength that comes from God. Take as your norm the sound words that you heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

Dear Friends,

Thank you!

I am once again humbled by your love and support. What began as a simple fundraiser has grown to a unifying event for our parish community in support of our beloved school.

Our Annual Golf Outing and Parish Dinner makes me think of the image of fire Saint Paul uses in this weekend’s second reading. A small spark has the potential to become a blazing inferno. Blowing gently on embers can create a fire. So, too, when we come together as a community our hearts catch fire. We are made to be a Light to the World.

Special thanks to our golf committee: Christina, Jim, Tony, John, Jim, Pat, Ray, and Alexis. Thank you to all who sponsored, volunteered, and participated in any way big or small in what was our 4th year of golf and gathering at the Rockaway River Country Club!

Christ's Peace,
Father Daniel
