Being God's Love
on the need to pray always

Dear Friends,

This weekend's Gospel passage has Jesus instructing his disciples about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary.

In his parable, Jesus compares God to an unjust judge (yes, it's strange) in order to ram home the point that God will decide in favor of Jesus' disciples. God will provide for us in our need.

This is a tough topic to crack open. I took a swing at it last Saturday. Do you remember the WWJD bracelets? Here, I suggest a better approach: J, WWYHMD. Give it a listen if you have a chance.

More to Jesus' point, prayer animates and sustains our life's work of making flesh the merciful love of God. If our only concern is, trusting and following Jesus, to bring God's love to life for everyone we encounter, then God will rule in our favor.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

In Christ's Love,
Father Daniel

PS Check out the video below. I love the way Philip Rivers (QB for the LA Chargers) explores Confession as a way to persevere in the mission God has called us to.

NFL quarterback Philip Rivers discusses the importance of the sacrament of reconciliation.
