PASTOR'S NOTE: Mar 09, 2025

Dear Saints,

It’s a well-known adage among experts that the only way to get better at running is to run. Swimming is similar: the only way to get better at swimming is to swim. And the only way to get better at praying is to pray.

Most of us are easily deterred. We get tired and distracted within minutes, if not seconds. We get discouraged when God doesn’t give us what we ask for. We get too busy to fit prayer into our daily lives. And finally, we lose hope when prayer doesn’t seem to make any difference.

But the reality, as St. Luigi Orione once said, is that “man is worth as much as he prays." Prayer is essential if our lives are to have any meaning and purpose. Regularity, in turn, is essential for a fruitful prayer life.

We’re on the right track when we consistently make prayer part of what we do. But when we actually make prayer part of who we are, that’s when we can start to make all the difference in the world.

Christ’s Peace,

Father Daniel
