Dear Saints,
It might seem hard to believe, but school starts back up this Wednesday! It’s a time of great excitement and a few butterflies, as new beginnings tend to be. It’s also a good opportunity to sketch out for you the goals and expectations we’ll be aiming for every day.
I think the most important frame I can offer the year ahead is to say that OLMC school is a ministry of the parish. Just as OLMC parish gives local expression to the Church’s global mission to love and serve others, so our school manifests our parish’s missional commitments in a particular way to families with children in preK through grade 12.
So what is our shared commitment to these families? In short, the school exists to help form students into human beings who flourish into their full potential in mind, body, heart, and soul. That responsibility takes on countless shapes and sizes, from Euclidean geometry to gym class, from our House system to the artwork hanging in our hallways. Fortunately, our faculty is more than up to the task, and I can’t wait to see what the year will bring under the guidance of this talented crew. I invite you to get to know our teachers a little bit: you can find their bios at www.olmc.academy/faculty and www.lumengentium.academy/faculty. I think you’ll be gratified that such capable and dedicated professionals are implementing the parish’s educational ministry on our behalf. Please keep them and our school families in your prayers as we get started this week!
Christ’s Peace,
Father Daniel
