Announcements for July 17, 2021:
The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is here! Join us on Sunday for a procession and parish celebration following the 11:00am Mass. There will be grilling and other goodies -- feel free to bring a favorite finger food. Please contact me with any questions.
Our beyond-the-tithe opportunity this month is the diocesan appeal for the Catholic Communication Campaign, Black and Indian Missions, and the Catholic University of America. To learn more about these initiatives or to give online, please visit the Monthly Appeals section of our website.

Dear Saints,
This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. We move the Mass from July 16th to its nearest Sunday so that we can celebrate the patronal feast of our parish with due solemnity.
I hope you're getting pumped and preparing well. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Our procession is a powerful part of our annual celebration. In a word, it is expressive of our being the Body of Christ. This public profession of faith is part of our witness to the fact that God’s love is not confined to the church building: we must bring it to life wherever we go.
The procession reminds us of the public nature of our faith, but it also shows our neighbors that we are committed to the task – and that they can call on us to be the Body of Christ!
Further, the procession makes known the fact that God is alive, and that he is on the move. God is at work in every neighborhood, and we are called to join him in his work to claim every heart, every life, for Jesus.
It is the holy Spirit that animates the Body of Christ. That means that, whether or not you can join us on procession, you can accompany us and support us by your prayers.
As we process this year I will offer prayers in thanksgiving for Mary’s motherly care for us during these challenging times, and I will ask God for the healing our hearts, homes, and neighborhoods need to better reflect his glory and goodness!
We look forward to this weekend every year... and I look forward to celebrating this special day with you!

Every Mass will be the Mass of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
After the 11:00am Mass, we will process with the (big) statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel around some of the surrounding streets
Following the procession, we will enjoy food and fellowship in front of the church
