Dear Saints,
I recently said to one of our parish families, “The weeks are short,” and I could tell that I struck a chord. I don’t know exactly what it means that the weeks are short, or why we’d perceive that experience to be less than ideal, but I am sure it has something to do with the mental and emotional strain of living under the stressful conditions of a global pandemic.
Have you had that experience recently? Days or weeks go by in a blur? You can’t quite keep up with life? It’s okay. God’s got it, and he’s seeing us through it. We can figure the rest of it out as we go - we can figure out how to overcome tomorrow’s obstacles tomorrow.
I find comfort in the fact that we’re in this together. And we are! Thank you, my friends, for your prayers, encouragement, compassion, and care. Please know that I hold you in my heart and offer you and your intentions to God in prayer every day. Please pray for me, too.
It’s amazing to think that we’ve been walking this way together for more than five years now (I arrived toward the end of October, 2015). What a time of great blessing this has been! There are many things to be thankful for these five short years, but they all boil down to our hearts being enkindled by the love of God and bringing the light of his love to everyone we encounter.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know and love and serve you – I look forward to many more years together!
Christ’s Peace,
Father Daniel
