Ask and Receive
the promise of prayer

In the Gospel passage we hear proclaimed this weekend Jesus just piles up the promises.
Check it out:
And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Is this your experience in prayer? It could be.
In my homily last weekend, I talked about apprenticing under Jesus. The more we do so - the more we trust and follow Jesus - the more we realize the great promise of prayer.
